CT Technologist (Computed Tomography)

Location: Weirton, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Overview

• Work in a fast-paced environment performing CT imaging including head, chest, abdomen, pelvis, extremities, biopsies, and sterile tray setup.
• Opportunity for training in performing biopsies if needed.
• Average of 65 scans/studies per day, 24-hour operation.
• Department has 2 CT rooms with 3 techs on daily; some nursing support for IVs and premed administration.
• Must have IV experience; responsible for starting IVs.
• Shifts follow a 2,2,3 schedule with daylight, afternoon, and midnight shifts. Overnight shifts may require being the only tech in-house.
• Weekend coverage every other weekend; holiday rotation possible.
• No call or standby requirements.
• Dress code: clean, professional scrubs of any color; permanent staff wear emerald green but not required for travelers.
• Orientation: 5 shifts with a preceptor, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, no call during orientation.

Equipment & Systems

• CT Scanners: GE VCT 64 slice, Siemens Somatom Definition 64 slice
• EMR: Community Works
• PACS: Intellirad/Intelliconnect

Required Qualifications

• Certified CT Technologist (ARRT CT) preferred OR 3-5 years of CT experience.
• BLS Certification required.
• West Virginia X-ray License required.
• WV CARES registration required prior to start.
• Must have IV experience.
• Must be able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Prior travel experience not required; first-time travelers accepted.

Additional Information

• Department does not use Registered Radiology Assistants (RRAs).
• Radiologist coverage in-house until 5 PM; after hours covered by on-call radiologist and virtual radiology services.
• No floating or coverage of other areas required.
• 50-mile radius rule applies for candidate submissions.
• Licensing issues must be disclosed at time of submission.
