Job Description

• Shift: 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
• Emergency Department sees both pediatric and adult patients; candidates must be comfortable caring for both populations.
• Patient-to-nurse ratio: 1:4
• Weekend requirement: Every 3rd weekend
• First-time travelers accepted
• No on-call requirement
• No floating outside scope of practice
• No block scheduling accommodations
• Local candidates within 75 miles radius not accepted
• Pending license accepted
• Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: 7 days
• Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week for 3-12 shifts
• Special requirement: Glucostabilizer certification or competency

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Glucostabilizer certification or competency

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued ID required
• Criminal background check within 6 months (7-year search including statewide, nationwide, and international if applicable)
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
• Fingerprinting required for certain assignments (especially in Illinois long-term care or rehab units)
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required (no pending at start)
• State-specific searches and verifications (Missouri and Illinois)
• Primary source verification of professional nursing license (NURSYS for Missouri)
• Drug testing within 1 year, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Fit mask test (N95) required and must be renewed annually
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Two negative PPD tests or acceptable alternatives for TB screening
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Annual HIPAA acknowledgement and compliance education
• Review and sign facility policies including hand hygiene, dress code, and fingernail policy
• Orientation modules completion required prior to start (approximately 16 hours)
• Professional references required (two, preferably supervisors within last year)
• Unit-specific skills checklist and competency exams required annually

Additional Notes

• Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced ER environment with both adult and pediatric patients.
• Weekend work is mandatory every third weekend.
• No floating outside of scope of practice.
• Pending licenses are accepted, but all other compliance and credentialing must be complete before start.
• This is a travel contract position with a 13-week duration.
