Travel Registered Nurse (Emergency Department)

Location: Poplar Bluff, Missouri

Shift: Mids (11:00 AM – 11:00 PM)

Job Description

As a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing patient care using the Nursing Process in accordance with state Nurse Practice Act and hospital policies. This role requires critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership to ensure safe and effective care delivery. You will rapidly assess patients, assign Emergency Severity Index levels, provide immediate life-saving interventions, stabilize critical patients, administer medications, and coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.

You will also delegate patient care priorities based on staff education and experience, and supervise assigned personnel delivering patient care.

Unit Details

• Unit Beds: 24
• Patient Ratio: 1:4 (general), 1:1 to 1:2 (trauma)
• EMR System: Cerner
• Scrub Color: Royal Blue
• 48-hour weekly guarantees are not approved
• Blocked scheduling may be requested

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Minimum 1+ years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience within the last year
• Certifications required: ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, SAMA
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Information

• This position requires accountability for rapid patient assessment and emergency interventions.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• The role may involve floating to other units as needed.

Work Schedule

• Mid shifts, 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM
