Location: Seattle, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Surgical Services
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (3x12s), starting at 9:00 AM
- Call Requirements: Circulator call with 3 weeknight call shifts per 4-week schedule and 2 weekend 24-hour call shifts per month (total 5 call shifts)
- Weekend Requirement: Yes, on an as-needed basis
- Floating: Yes, within the hospital (no floating to other hospitals)
- Block Schedule: Not open to block scheduling unless otherwise stated
- Locals Accepted: Yes
- Pending License Accepted: No
- Return to Office Restrictions: Maximum 1 week
Patient Population & Environment
- Average daily census: 50-75 patients
- Rooms: 28
- Patient types include orthopedic sports (limited total joints), minimally invasive arthroscopic and laparoscopic cases, robotics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, and plastics
- Experience with neuro, spine, thoracic, and vascular cases is a plus
- Very busy, high acuity academic environment
Required Qualifications
- Valid CVOR Technologist license in Washington
- Minimum 3 years of CVOR Technologist experience
- CVOR Technologist experience within the last year
Certifications & Competencies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only
- Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM) — verify based on specific unit needs
- Competency exams such as medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, conscious sedation may be required depending on assignment
Background & Compliance Requirements
- 7-year criminal background check required within 45 days of start
- Education verification may be required depending on discipline
- Various background checks including EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, sex offender search, and state-specific searches
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug screen required within one year of start
- Physical exam and fit mask testing required (fit test within 12 months of start)
- Immunizations and health documentation required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per facility guidelines
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination documentation)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer or declination with waiver)
- Varicella (titer or vaccination)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption/declination documentation
- COVID vaccination or declination documentation for tracking
Additional Notes
- Scrub color: Any (scrubs provided for OR personnel)
- Charting system: EPIC
- Parking cost: Approximately $10.26 daily
- Performance evaluations may be requested at the end of the assignment
- Radiation badges for new candidates are not provided by the agency; candidates must obtain from the facility if needed
Summary
This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced CVOR Tech with at least 3 years of specialty experience. The role requires call coverage, weekend availability, and the ability to float within the hospital. The environment is a busy, high-acuity academic surgical setting with a diverse patient population. Candidates must meet all licensing, certification, and compliance requirements prior to start. First-time travelers are not accepted for this position.
