Job Details

• Shift: 3x12 hour shifts, 10:30 AM - 11:00 PM
• Average Daily Census: 20-28 patients
• Rooms: 17
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• On-Call Requirement: Yes, after shift until 6:30 AM possible on weekends; response time 45 minutes. Approximately 5-6 call shifts in a 6-week period, averaging one 12-hour weekday call shift and one weekend shift per 6-week schedule.
• Floating: May float within scope to meet unit needs based on skill set.
• Block Schedule: Not accommodated.
• Local Radius Rule: No local candidates accepted within 75 miles.
• Pending License: Accepted.
• Return to Office Restrictions: No more than 7 days.
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week.

Required Experience & Skills

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri.
• Minimum 1 year of recent Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year.
• Experience in ENT Surgery.
• Experience in Neurosurgery.
• Experience in Transplant Surgery.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).

Required Certifications & Licenses

• License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Missouri (pending licenses accepted).
• Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit (check unit specifics).
  • Other certifications may be required based on unit assignment (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC) - verify with unit.

Compliance & Background Requirements

• Government-issued ID required.
• Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches.
• Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks.
• Education verification of highest nursing degree required.
• State-specific background checks and registries as applicable.
• Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel.
• Physical exam within 1 year of start.
• Fit mask testing required and must be renewed annually.
• Immunizations and health screenings required:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (every 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
• Facility-specific compliance documents including HIPAA, confidentiality, hand hygiene, dress code, and latex allergy questionnaire must be reviewed and signed prior to start.

Additional Information

• Parking is available but not reimbursed; fees vary by location and shift.
• Scrubs and charting system (EPIC) provided.
• References: Two professional references required, preferably supervisors within the last year.
• Skills checklist and unit-specific competency exams required and must be updated annually.
• On-call shifts may require working after midnight with rest accommodations.

This is a 13-week travel contract for an experienced Registered Nurse in the Operating Room with specialized skills in Neuro, Spine, ENT, and abdominal organ transplant surgeries.
