Job Opportunity: Dialysis Registered Nurse
Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift Details
- 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Nights)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in specialty
- Unit accepts first-time travelers (no prior travel experience required)
Job Description
- Work in a Level II trauma hospital with Comprehensive Stroke and Chest Pain accreditation
- Provide hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis to inpatients, both in the dialysis department and bedside in other units
- Support and troubleshoot dialysis machines in collaboration with ICU nurses
- Use of Tablo dialysis machines for hemodialysis and SLEDD
- Use of Baxter Claria Homechoice for peritoneal dialysis
Candidate Restrictions
- Local travelers within 100-mile radius are not accepted
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho with primary source verification
- Minimum 1 year of dialysis experience, with dialysis experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Additional certifications may be required as applicable (e.g., PALS, NRP, TNCC, Chemotherapy, CPI, NIH Stroke Certification, Management of Assaultive Behavior)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Drug screening (10-panel) within 90 days of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Required immunizations and titers:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
Additional Requirements
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Color blindness test (online version acceptable)
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years
- Clear headshot photo for badge
Notes
- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
- Fingerprinting may be required for certain locations (not applicable here)
- Must have valid driver’s license or state ID
- E-Verify and other employment eligibility checks required
