Nursing Supervisor (Contract)

Job Summary

Seeking an experienced Nursing Supervisor to coordinate and organize personnel and resources to ensure effective patient care. The role involves managing urgent care, emergency, inpatient, and operative services, monitoring daily operations, and collaborating with multiple departments to maintain patient care quality and safety.

Work Schedule

• Variable shifts including:

  • One 12-hour night shift (7:00 pm to 7:30 am)
  • Two 12-hour day shifts (7:00 am to 7:30 pm)
• Call rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure continuous availability of urgent care, emergency, inpatient, and operative services
• Monitor daily operations through electronic systems, communication, and unit rounds
• Allocate and redirect resources based on patient acuity, unit needs, and staff skill mix
• Coordinate patient admissions to optimize placement and capacity
• Collaborate with administrators and nursing leadership during high census periods across multiple departments

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maine
• Minimum of 3 years of management experience, including managerial experience within the last year
• Experience in supervisory roles
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Proper completion of timecards is mandatory; incomplete timecards will be rejected and not processed
• This is a full-time position with variable shifts totaling 36 hours per week
