Registered Nurse (OR) - Surgical Services

Location: Ketchum, Idaho
Contract Length: 8 weeks
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday
Hours: 8-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with call requirements

Job Description

• Work in a small hospital surgical services unit (OR, Floor 2) with 4 OR suites plus 1 endoscopy suite.
• Average of 8 cases per day including orthopedic total joints, sports medicine, hand and trauma surgeries, general surgery, gynecology, C-sections, and endoscopy.
• The unit is fast-paced, located in a resort town, with a strong focus on orthopedics, sports medicine, and robotics.
• Call schedule includes approximately 4 weeknights per month (3:30 PM – 7:00 AM next day), 1 full weekend per month (7:00 AM Saturday – 7:00 AM Monday), and possible holiday call.
• Call response time requires being within 30 minutes of the hospital.
• Orientation includes 5 days paired with a preceptor covering unit norms and system values.
• Scrubs (blue) and OR shoes are required and provided.
• The OR team also covers endoscopy; CSTs have SPD and HLD responsibilities.
• EMR system used: Epic; additional tools include TDOC for instrument tracking and ProVation for endoscopy documentation.

Required Qualifications

• Active Idaho RN license.
• Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience with a strong orthopedic background.
• Experience with endoscopy or C-sections is required.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification recommended.
• Prior travel nursing experience is required.

Additional Information

• Scrubbing by RNs is not required; CSTs and some RNs scrub.
• Charge nurse and house supervisor roles are staffed separately.
• The position includes call and requires flexibility with scheduling adjustments as needed.
• Must provide written confirmation of housing research, pay package approval, commitment to assignment, and sign offer within 24 hours of notification.
