Description
Job Opportunity: CT Tech
Location: Charleston, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Radiology / Cardiology
- Shift: Night shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (8:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Monday to Thursday)
- Daily caseload varies by shift and location
- No on-call required
- Floating within scope to sister facilities is required
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- ARRT RT (R) (CT) certification
- SCRQSA (R) (CT) certification
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
Facility & Work Environment
- Type: Teaching hospital with Magnet status and Level 1 Trauma designation
- Total staffed beds: 865
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color: Teal top and black bottom
- Parking: Paid parking required nights and weekends; one-time $20 parking pass
Health & Safety Requirements
- Fit test for N95 mask (specific models required) within 90 days prior to start; annual renewal required
- Physical exam updated annually, attesting ability to meet physical demands
- Immunizations and titers required or proof of vaccination/declination for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer or vaccination series)
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start; annual TB questionnaire required
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; if declined, must complete facility vaccination declination form
- Seasonal flu vaccination or medical/religious exemption required during flu season
Compliance & Documentation
- Must complete facility-specific orientation modules prior to start (approx. 2 hours)
- Clear, passport-style badge photo required before start
- Required background checks including:
- 7-year history with multiple searches (SSN trace, state and national criminal, sex offender registry, FACIS 3)
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed
- Primary source verification of licenses and certifications required
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required as applicable
- Radiation exposure attestation required prior to start
Additional Notes
- Facility enforces a 60-mile radius rule for travel assignments
- Locals may be accepted on a case-by-case basis
- Guaranteed hours: Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Floating to sister facilities within scope of practice is expected
- Agency must manage radiation badge ordering process; candidates cannot start without badge
- Physical assessment form required for sterile processing techs (not applicable for this role)
