Job Opportunity: Telemetry Registered Nurse
Location: Belleville, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract

Job Details
- Shift: Nights (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 18:45 - 7:15)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:5-6
- Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Magnet designated
- Total Staffed Beds: 222
- Charting System: EPIC
- Parking: Free
- Float: Floating within scope to nearby facilities as needed
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend required
- Block Scheduling: Not available
- Local Radius Rule: Candidates must be outside a 75-mile radius (no locals accepted)
- On-call: Not required
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Compliance and Background Requirements
- Government-issued ID required
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks
- Fingerprinting required for assignments at or floating to long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
- State-specific exclusion and sanction list checks for Illinois and Missouri
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, including a comprehensive panel (amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, PCP)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually
- Immunizations and health documentation:
- Tdap vaccine or declination (expires every 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframes
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination/declination as applicable
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- HIPAA Acknowledgement, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Confidentiality Form, Hand Hygiene Policy, Fingernail Policy, Dress Code Policy must be reviewed and signed prior to start
- Regulatory Compliance Education quiz must be completed annually
- Badge photo required (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
Competency Requirements
- Unit-specific competency exam required annually (including oncology competency if assigned to Med Surg-Oncology)
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam required
- Online color blind test required (must score 100%)
Additional Requirements
- Two professional references required (supervisors preferred within last year)
- Employment application must be submitted and uploaded
- Unit-specific skills checklist required within 1 year of start
- Candidates must adhere to facility policies and complete all required orientation modules (approximately 16 hours) through the designated learning platform
Notes
- Guaranteed hours: 36 hours per week for 3x12 hour night shifts
- No on-call duties
- Floating may be required within the facility network
- Candidates must be prepared to work every other weekend
- No local candidates accepted within 75 miles radius
