Job Opportunity: RN Emergency Room
Location: Hartford, Connecticut
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM (36 hours per week, every other week rotation)
Job Description
- Registered Nurse (RN) in the Emergency Department (ED)
- Work schedule includes 11a-11:30p shifts, approximately 36 hours per week on an every-other-week rotation
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
- Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Department (ED) experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course) certification
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Health and Safety Requirements
- Fit test for respirator use
- COVID-19 vaccination proof (including booster by Sept 2025) or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
- Influenza vaccine proof or approved exemption/declination (declination not accepted in CA or IL)
- MMR vaccination proof (2 doses or IgG titer)
- Hepatitis B vaccination series initiated prior to start (titers not accepted)
- Varicella vaccination proof or IgG titer
- 2-step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) test; if positive, chest x-ray required within last year for CT and certain other states
- Physical/health statement confirming fitness to work (exam within last year)
- 10-panel drug screen completed within 30 days of start (no THC)
Professional and Compliance Requirements
- Signed code of conduct and confidentiality agreements
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county for last 7 years) with SSN verification, dated within 30 days of start
- Education verification (highest degree or diploma/GED)
- Exclusion screenings (EPLS, OIG, NSO) dated within 30 days of start
- Conflict of interest disclosure form
- System access form completed and uploaded one week before start
- Trinity Integrity and Audit Services form signed shortly before start
- Joint Commission CORE exam within the past year
Additional Notes
- Resume and professional references required for submission
- Specialty skills checklist and competency testing must be current (within one year)
- Agency will provide skills checklist for clinical contractors
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs seeking a long-term assignment with a defined shift and comprehensive credentialing and compliance requirements.
