Cath Lab Technician (Traveler) - Illinois, Evanston

Job Details

  • Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
  • Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, weekends required
  • Contract Length: 13 weeks
  • Location: Evanston, Illinois

Job Description

  • Assist with procedures and provide diagnostic aid by conducting organ or body scans.
  • Prepare and position patients; select anatomic and technical parameters accurately.
  • Prepare and administer contrast media and medications within scope of practice and regulations.
  • Observe patients during procedures and report abnormal activity.
  • Monitor protocols and recommend updates or refinements as needed.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform specialized imaging procedures including angiography, complex vascular, and nonvascular interventional and therapeutic procedures.
  • Assist Radiologist/Physician Assistant during procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agency standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Cath Lab Technologist with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year,
      OR
    • High School diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of cumulative applicable experience,
      OR
    • Associate's or Technical degree,
      OR
    • 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications:
    • BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
    • ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
    • Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) certification.
    • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
    • Device Certification Institute/Biomedical Vascular Professional (DCI/BVP) certification.

Required Onboarding and Compliance

  • Up-to-date professional resume reflecting recent work history.
  • Two professional references, including at least one from a manager or direct supervisor.
  • National criminal background check within one year of start date.
  • Drug screening (minimum 10-panel test including THC) within 60 days of start.
  • Annual respirator fit test completed prior to start (no on-site fit testing in Illinois).
  • Proof of immunizations or immunity for:
    • COVID-19 (2 vaccines + booster or declination),
    • MMR (2 vaccines or positive titer),
    • Hepatitis B,
    • Influenza (or declination during flu season),
    • Varicella (vaccination or immunity),
    • Tdap,
    • Tuberculosis test and annual TB questionnaire.
  • Physical/health statement completed within 60 days of start, stating clearance to work.
  • Primary source verification of professional licenses and certifications within 30 days of start.
  • Completion of required competency exams with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Completion of specialty exam with a minimum score of 80%.
  • Completion of onboarding education attestation prior to clearance.
  • Driver’s license, State ID, or Passport required for onboarding.
  • Social Security Card or Passport for identity verification.
  • Badge photo (clear headshot) required for facility identification.
  • Employment eligibility verification (Form I-9) or agency attestation.
  • Signed job description provided by agency.
  • Completion of agency attestation and other required onboarding documents.

Additional Notes

  • Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
  • This role requires weekend availability.
  • Radiation safety and regulatory compliance are critical components of the position.
