Registered Nurse - PCU (Night Shift)

Job Details

• Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
• Hours per week: 36

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU), with recent PCU experience within the last year
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Background and Screening Requirements

• Background check within 30 days of start, including SS trace, county searches for last 7 years, nationwide sex offender check, and Pennsylvania statewide patch search
• EPLS/GSA/SAM check within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start
• Pennsylvania Department of Human Services fingerprinting results required prior to start (includes PA ChildLine, Act 33/34 Child Abuse History Clearances, PA Criminal Background, FBI fingerprinting)
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required for all candidates

• Disclosure statement (must include date)
• Employment handbook acknowledgment

• Various mandatory trainings and quizzes with 100% passing score, including:

  • Assessment of Patient Policy
  • Interdisciplinary Plans of Care
  • Skin Integrity Training
  • Mobility Training
  • Catheter Training
  • Cardiac Procedure Education (for Telemetry units)
• Competency assessment form to be printed and brought to orientation (for Telemetry units)

References and Documentation

• Two professional references required for travel, allied, or per diem acute care positions (within 3 years of start)
• One professional reference required for per diem non-acute care positions
• Annual skills checklist required

• Religious and medical COVID-19 exemptions must be formally documented and signed by appropriate authorities
