Job Opportunity: Neuro ICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Job Summary
- Unit: Neuro ICU
- Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
- Patient Ratios: Average 1:2 (days and nights)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
- Block Schedule: Not accommodated
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Connecticut
- Minimum 2 years of Neuro ICU experience
- Neuro ICU experience within the last year
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Level I Trauma Center
- Total Staffed Beds: 1,567
- Electronic Health Record: Epic
- Parking: $125/month (for informational purposes)

- CLABSI Prevention Training for Adult and Pediatric patients
- Preventing Pressure Injury Training
- Language Services Training
- CAUTI Education Training (except PICU, NICU, Psychiatry/Behavioral Health)
- Patient Transportation with Oxygen Education
- Suicide Risk and Environmental Assessment Training
- Pyxis ES MedStation Training and Attestation
- Baxter Pump Interoperability Training
- Patient Bedside Rounding Module (except OR, Behavioral Health, Ambulatory, ER/ED)
- Ventricular Assist Device Awareness Training
- Annual Blood Administration Module (except Case Managers, Behavioral Health/Psych, Home Health)
- New Employee Orientation Module (must be completed by start date)
- 21st Century Cures Act Module (required for RNs except Home Health)
- Chaperone Policy Training (required if gap of 6+ months between assignments or updated module)
Notes
- On-call is not required
- Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: RTO greater than 7 days requires approval
- Candidates must provide photo ID matching legal name on first day
- Mobile Heartbeat Alarm training required for all RNs except ER/ED, Pediatrics, ICU, and NICU
- EPIC testing is optional but highly encouraged for RNs with prior Epic experience
- Medical exemptions for vaccines require facility approval; religious exemptions approved by agency
- Candidates must be clean-shaven for fit testing unless approved exemption is provided
This position is ideal for experienced Neuro ICU RNs seeking a travel contract with a reputable acute care facility and a structured night shift schedule.
