Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Temp Position

Location: Oregon, Missouri

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide rehabilitative, skilled, and medically necessary treatment interventions to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
• Utilize evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Administer procedures including ADL retraining, therapeutic activities and exercises, modalities, and use of supportive and assistive devices.
• Assess patient progress and communicate with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly.
• Report treatment outcomes and provide consultation to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Document all required clinical and regulatory information accurately in the electronic documentation system.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings or in-services.
• Support and supervise students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.
• Collaborate with supervising Occupational Therapist to obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies.
• Adhere to NBCOT, AOTA, and State practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics.

Required Qualifications

• Active Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license in the state of Missouri.
• Minimum 1 year of OTA experience.
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) settings.
• New graduates are eligible if they have completed Level II fieldwork experience (not just Level I observation).

Additional Information

• Work hours: 8-hour shifts during the day.
