Job Opportunity: Case Manager (Registered Nurse)

Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 16 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM (5 days x 8 hours)
• On-Call/Weekend: No on-call requirement; weekends optional if available and needed
• Float Requirement: Must float across MedSurg units within the patient tower as necessary
• Work Setting: Acute hospital environment with outpatient clinic case management focus
• Key Responsibilities:

  • Care coordination
  • Discharge planning
  • Needs assessment and ordering Durable Medical Equipment (DME)

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 3 years of Case Management experience, including within the last year
• Experience in outpatient, clinic, acute care, and inpatient settings
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Care coordination, discharge planning, and needs assessment experience
• Knowledge of HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) regulations
• Acute hospital case management experience

Competencies & Exams

• Medication/Pharmacology competency exam (score ≥ 80%) within 3 years of start
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam with specific scoring requirements if applicable to unit (updated annually)
• Color blindness testing (online or in-person)
• Other certifications as required by unit (e.g., ACLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC, EFM)

Documentation & Compliance

• Complete I-9 and E-Verify attestation prior to start
• Valid driver’s license if driving is an essential job function
• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules before hire date
• Annual acknowledgment of safety manual
• Photo for badge with specific requirements (clear, centered, no glare, solid background)

Additional Notes

• Must be able to work locally within 60 miles of the facility
• No prior travel experience explicitly required for this position
• Must comply with all facility-specific health and safety policies
