Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – IMC (Intermediate Care)

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
Average Daily Census: 24 patients
Unit Beds: 24 staffed beds
Charting System: Epic


Job Description

  • Provide nursing care in an Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit (IMC/PCU) setting.
  • Must be able to float within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities.
  • No local candidates accepted; candidate’s address must be more than 75 miles from the contracted facility.
  • No block scheduling accommodations.
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: no more than 5 days allowed.

Required Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma.
  • Minimum 1 year of telemetry experience within the last year.
  • One year or more of total travel nursing experience.
  • Intermediate Care experience.
  • Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license or state-issued ID.
  • Utility bill in candidate’s name with matching address dated within the last 3 months (address must be >75 miles from facility).
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, education verification, and various federal/state sanction lists.
  • Physical exam within 1 year stating good health and ability to perform job duties.
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes.
  • Immunizations/vaccinations or titers for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (or declination with annual renewal)
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (Tdap mandatory for certain units)
    • Seasonal Flu vaccine (required annually with limited exemptions)
    • COVID-19 vaccination strongly preferred (declinations accepted with agency form).
  • Negative 10-panel drug screen including marijuana (required within 30 days prior to start).
  • Fingerprinting and state-specific offender registration clearance.
  • Completion of facility-specific orientation and training modules, including patient care orientation and Epic training if no recent experience.
  • Completion of Health Code of Ethical Business Conduct, Policy Acknowledgment, Information Access Agreement, and Drug and Alcohol-Free Workplace Policy forms prior to start.
  • Two professional references required, including at least one from a direct supervisor within the past year.

Additional Information

  • Candidates must have current skills checklist and competency exams aligned and updated annually.
  • Candidates must pass medication/pharmacology competency exams with 100%.
  • Color blindness testing required within 60 days prior to start.
  • Candidates must complete all required facility-specific documents and acknowledgments before clearance.
  • Candidates will be pulled from assignment if required certifications or exams are not current or completed on time.

This position is ideal for experienced travel RNs with critical care and telemetry skills seeking a 12-week contract in an Intermediate Care setting with day shifts. Prior travel experience is mandatory.
