Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Contract Length

  • 13 weeks

Shift Details

  • Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:45 to 7:15)
  • Weekend shifts required as per unit needs
  • Various days of the week scheduled

Unit and Patient Population

  • 28-bed inpatient cardiac telemetry unit with medical/surgical overflow
  • Patient types include cardiac/telemetry vascular patients, post-CABG (2-3 days out), cath lab patients, TAVR patients
  • Experience with cardiac patients and drips such as amiodarone, insulin, nitro, cardizem, and heparin required

Nurse-to-Patient Ratios

  • Day shift ratio: 1 nurse to 4 patients
  • Night shift ratio: 1 nurse to 5 patients
  • Ratios may flex based on staffing and unit needs; candidates must be comfortable with flexible staffing environments

Floating Requirements

  • Floating within scope to medical/surgical units as needed
  • May float to sister facilities based on facility needs

Charting System

  • Epic

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Colorado
  • Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • I9 or attestation
  • Driver’s License/State ID (clear copies front and back)
  • E-Verify or attestation
  • Proof of name change if applicable
  • 7-year background check including:
    • SSN Trace
    • Colorado Statewide CBI
    • Education verification (accredited nursing school)
    • FACIS III or equivalent
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM check
    • HHS/OIG check
  • Education verification or transcript/diploma acceptable
  • NURSYS verification of RN license within 60 days of start
  • Colorado CAPS check within 60 days of start
  • Physical exam within 1 year, signed by MD, DO, NP, or PA (not Chiropractor)
  • Fit mask test within 12 months (3M 1860S, 1860R, 1870/1870+ masks accepted)
  • Immunizations and titers:
    • TDAP within 10 years or signed declination
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) immunity by titer or vaccination
    • Hepatitis B immunity or vaccination series or declination
    • Varicella immunity or vaccination
    • COVID vaccine proof or signed declination (AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna accepted)
  • Drug testing within 30 days of start and annually (specific panel required)
  • Color blind testing: Ishihara exam required (online testing not accepted for new candidates)
  • Annual competencies and exams including:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency
    • Core Part I, II, III exams
    • OSHA mandatory training
  • References: 2 references from last 2 years, including one from last year, from Charge RN, Manager, or Supervisor
  • Employment history verification for last 3 years with explanations for gaps over 30 days

Additional Information

  • Scrub color: Navy
  • No on-call requirement
  • Candidates must confirm renewal plans for certifications expiring within 90 days of start
  • Candidates must be comfortable working in a flexible staffing environment with possible floating to other units or facilities

This position is ideal for experienced cardiac telemetry RNs seeking a travel contract in Colorado with night shifts and a dynamic patient population requiring cardiac care expertise.
