Description

Registered Nurse (Neuro Medsurg / Telemetry) - Travel Position

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 7 PM – 7 AM
Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
Call: Voluntary


Unit and Patient Population

  • Higher acuity med-surg unit with 24 beds
  • Patient diagnoses include stroke, seizures, post-op neuro/spinal surgeries, level 2 trauma, level 1 trauma post-ICU care, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), renal failure, and general post-op care
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio: 5:1 or 6:1

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Indiana
  • Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
  • Experience and competency in drain management
  • Experience and competency in chest tube management
  • Experience and competency in groin site management post interventional radiology (IR)

Additional Information

  • Department scrub color: Navy
  • Return to office (RTO) maximum allowed: 1 week
  • Travelers must attach required licenses and certifications with their application or will be rejected

This position offers an opportunity to work in a specialized neuro med-surg telemetry unit with a focus on critical care and trauma patients during night shifts on a travel contract basis.
