Description

Job Opportunity: Speech Language Pathologist - School

Location: Houston, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 6 weeks (42 days)
Shift: Day shift, Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM (7.5 hours per day)


Job Description

  • Provide speech-language pathology services across various grade levels in a school setting.
  • Work collaboratively with 2–3 SLPs per campus.
  • The district prioritizes manageable caseloads and balanced workloads.
  • Open to Clinical Fellows (CFs); supervision will be provided.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in Texas

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

  • W4, I9, Permanent Tax Declaration, Direct Deposit Authorization, Emergency Contact Form, and EOE forms are required.
  • Proof of name change if applicable.
  • Arbitration Agreement required and expires annually.
  • Social Security Card as applicable for I9 verification.
  • State license verification must be completed twice: upon receipt of assignment and 30 days prior to start.
  • License, credential, and certificate verifications must be uploaded and maintained.
  • Physical exam, TB testing, immunizations (Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella), and drug testing are only required if specified by the client.
  • Medical and Employee Information Release Form is required.
  • Flu vaccination documentation is only required if specified by the client.
  • Skills checklist required for clinical staff only.

Additional Notes

  • The school district manages fingerprinting; candidates must provide personal information to schedule prints and obtain confirmation that fingerprints are clear.
  • Paraprofessionals and other non-SLP roles may have different requirements not applicable here.
  • Competency exams are generally not required unless specified by the client.
  • This position involves working within a school district environment with a focus on educational services compliance.
