Job Opportunity: IMC Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Work Schedule
- Day/Evening shifts, 12 hours each (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Monday through Friday
- Every other weekend and some holidays required
- Total hours per week: 36
Unit & Specialty Experience Required
- Telemetry oncology, cardiac, and PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Ventilator and transplant experience required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Wisconsin
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- Telemetry experience
- Transplant experience
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
Compliance & Credentialing Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including nationwide SSN trace and sex offender search
- Wisconsin Caregiver Screening required within 90 days of start
- Education verification as applicable (for RN, diploma or degree verification may be required)
- State license verification and NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
- Pass/Fail Telemetry testing (Adult and Pediatric as applicable) with remediation process if failed
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam as applicable
- Annual skills checklist and employment application required
- Drug screening required per Vaya standard (clinical candidates)
- Various facility-specific forms and acknowledgments (e.g., safety manual, communicable disease form)
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray with TB questionnaire updated annually
- Hepatitis B vaccination series with positive titer or facility-specific declination form
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titers; medical or religious exemptions accepted
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer; medical or religious exemptions accepted
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination proof required
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually during flu season (09/22 – 04/13)
- Meningococcal vaccine or declination if working in Microbiology within 5 years (preferred)
Testing & Training
- Telemetry test (Adult and Pediatric as applicable) must be completed through the designated LMS platform with minimum passing scores (80% overall, 100% lethal rhythms subcategory)
- Remediation required after failed attempts; contract cancellation after third failed attempt
- Rhythm interpretation course required if remediation is needed
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgment required
Additional Notes
- Passport-style photo required for badge issuance (no selfies, headwear except for religious/medical reasons, solid background)
- Candidates must complete all required documentation and screenings prior to start date
- References: 2 clinical references within the last 3 years required
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with telemetry and critical care stepdown experience who are licensed in Wisconsin and comfortable working 12-hour day shifts in a fast-paced hospital environment.
