Description

Pharmacist Inpatient - Travel/Contract

Location: York, Pennsylvania
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Provide pharmacy services with inpatient or outpatient oncology experience.
  • Prepare hazardous and non-hazardous IV medications.
  • Work schedule: 40 hours per week, day shift between 6:00 AM - 7:00 PM.
  • Weekend requirement: every 3rd or 4th Saturday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM.
  • May float to a nearby facility (approximately 2 miles away).
  • May care for COVID-19 patients.
  • Tobacco and fragrance-free facility environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Pharmacist license in Pennsylvania.
  • Minimum 2 years of pharmacist experience, including experience within the last year.
  • Experience preparing hazardous medications.
  • Experience with Epic.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • 40 hours per week, primarily day shift (5 days x 8 hours).
  • Weekend work every 3rd or 4th Saturday.
  • No call requirements.
  • Holidays as needed.
  • Floating between hospital locations possible.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID required.
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG, and Pennsylvania-specific PATCH search.
  • PA FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year of start; may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days.
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search required within 5 years; may start with results pending but must be finalized within 45 days.
  • Education verification of highest degree required.
  • Two professional references within 3 years required.
  • Most recent resume or employment application required.
  • Annual skills checklist required.

Certifications & Competencies

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications as applicable.
  • Medication/Pharmacology competency exam required.
  • Pass/fail testing acknowledgment and EKG competency exam not applicable for pharmacists (not specified).

Health & Immunization Requirements

  • Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
  • Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted.
  • Immunizations or positive titers required for:
    • Rubeola (Measles)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Varicella
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series plus declination form)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine within 10 years.
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption or declination accepted.
  • Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year and renewed annually.
  • Fit testing preferred but not required.
  • Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year (for agency use only).

Additional Notes

  • Candidate will undergo clinical screening and manager interview before final selection.
  • Return to office (RTO) maximum 7 days.
  • Facility requires a clear, professional photo for badge issuance.
  • Candidates must review and sign facility-specific documents including code of conduct, confidentiality agreement, commitment to health & wellness, and non-employee affidavit.
  • Learning Management System (LMS) modules and new hire orientation required for all new hires, to be completed by the first day of orientation.
