Cath Lab Registered Nurse - Travel/Contract

Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Position Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse (Cath Lab)
  • Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (06:30 - 19:00)
  • Average Daily Census: 25 patients in a 5-room unit
  • Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per contract
  • On-call: Required as needed
  • Floating: May float within scope to meet facility needs
  • Schedule: Open to block schedule requests (discuss with manager)
  • Facility Type: Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center, Magnet designated
  • Charting System: Cerner
  • Parking: Permit required, no cost

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Illinois
  • Minimum 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience with Cerner

Work Environment & Expectations

  • Guaranteed hours with possible client call-offs up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay
  • On-call shifts count as called-off shifts if used in lieu of cancellation
  • Return to Office (RTO) restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days

Required Documentation & Compliance

  • Valid/current US Driver’s License or State ID
  • Background checks covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including:
    • SSN Trace, Counties, States, National Criminal, National Sex Offender, FACIS Level 3
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
  • Education verification (degree verification required)
  • Primary source verification of state license and certifications (NURSYS for RN)
  • Competency exam required for clinical candidates
  • Badge photo (color, mid-shoulders up, plain background) due before start
  • Signed Code of Conduct within 7 days of contract signing
  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by appropriate healthcare provider, confirming good health and ability to perform job functions
  • Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted) for new contracts
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
  • TB questionnaire updated annually
  • Immunizations or proof of immunity (or signed declination) required for:
    • Measles (Rubeola)
    • Mumps
    • Rubella
    • Hepatitis B
    • Varicella
  • 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (includes amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine, methadone, methaqualone, opiates, phencyclidine, propoxyphene)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30

State-Specific Requirements (Illinois)

  • Illinois Department of Corrections inmate search within 30 days of start
  • Illinois Most Wanted search within 30 days of start
  • Illinois State Police Murderer and Violent Offender Against Youth Registry search within 30 days of start
  • Illinois Healthcare Registry Worker fingerprint results required if no active Illinois license; fingerprints must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start
