Description

X-Ray Tech Travel/Contract Position

Location: Bend, Oregon
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work with GE x-ray equipment, GE fluoroscopy rooms, and GE OEC c-arms.
  • Comfortable working in the OR using c-arms and performing fluoroscopy procedures.
  • Perform inpatient/outpatient fluoroscopy, plain x-rays, and OR procedures.
  • Portable x-rays in ICU, NICU, and other hospital units.
  • Schedule: Thursday, Friday, and every other weekend.
  • On-call every other Wednesday.
  • No floating outside scope of practice.
  • No local candidates accepted within 75 miles (proof of address required).
  • Pending state license accepted.
  • Very limited or no requests for time off (RTO) allowed; plan accordingly.

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Radiology Technician license in Oregon (pending license accepted).
  • Minimum 1 year of Radiology Technician experience within the last year, including fluoroscopy and OR experience.
  • Current ARRT Radiologic Technologist (R) certification.
  • BLS certification required.
  • Experience with Epic EMR system.
  • X-Ray Technician experience.

Certifications & Licenses

  • BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA Provider, Instructor, or RQI accepted.
  • ARRT Radiologic Technologist certification.
  • State license verification required (primary source).
  • Background checks including 7-year criminal background, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG required within 90 days of start.
  • Education verification and diploma/transcript on file required.

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start.
  • Negative TB test (PPD, QGold, or TSPOT) within 1 year; if positive, negative chest X-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire required.
  • Required immunizations or proof of immunity:
    • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination accepted)
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines, booster or declination acceptable)
    • Hepatitis B (positive titer required; vaccine series alone not sufficient)
    • Varicella (positive titer or 2 vaccines, booster or declination acceptable)
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or agency declination/exemption required during flu season; masking required during high transmission.
  • COVID vaccine record preferred; declination/exemption required if never vaccinated.
  • Negative 12-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually.

Additional Requirements

  • Time-sensitive facility-specific documents and agreements must be completed within 48 hours of signing and no later than 2 Wednesdays prior to start.
  • Passport-style photo with solid background required for badge.
  • Skills checklist and competency exams as applicable.

Work Hours

  • 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (Day shift: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM)
  • Total 36 hours per week

  • First-time travelers are accepted.
  • No floating outside the scope of practice.
  • Locals within 75 miles not accepted.
  • On-call shifts required.
  • Very limited or no time off allowed during contract.
