Job Opportunity: Step Down Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Englewood, Ohio
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit & Work Environment

• 39-bed unit with a typical nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 or 1:5
• Unit specialties: Telemetry and Surgical
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Floating required between multiple nearby campuses (within 15 miles)
• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Availability required for every other weekend and holiday

Requirements/Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• IV Start certification
• Telemetry experience with proficiency in telemetry strip interpretation
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Documentation & Compliance Requirements

• I-9 and E-Verify attestation forms required prior to start
• Government-issued photo ID required
• 7-year criminal background check (including SSN trace, national and county checks) within 12 months
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
• Physical exam within 2 years indicating fitness for work and free of communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray; annual TB questionnaire if past positive TB
• Drug screening: Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months, including marijuana panel
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season
• Respiratory safety clearance within 1 year, renewed annually
• References: 2 professional references within 2 years (1 must be a manager/supervisor/charge RN)
• Current resume or employment application required
• Skills checklist updated within 1 year prior to documentation due date

Additional Notes

• Floating between multiple campuses within a 15-mile radius is required
• Travelers are not eligible for employee incentives
• Employer reserves the right to cancel the contract with 2 weeks’ notice without penalty

This position is ideal for experienced registered nurses with telemetry and surgical unit experience who are comfortable working night shifts and floating between nearby campuses. Strong EPIC skills and required certifications must be current and verifiable.
