Description

Charge RN - Med Surg/Ortho

Location: Lewiston, Maine
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7 PM - 7 AM), 4 shifts per week, 12 hours each

Job Description

Provide direct and indirect patient care on the Post Surgical unit.
Assess patients on admission and throughout their stay.
Involve patients and caregivers in care plan development and updates.
Administer IV medications, IV therapy, blood, and blood components according to clinical standards.
Must be willing and able to work as Charge Nurse.
Must demonstrate competency in applying restraints, implementing seclusion, and caring for patients in restraint or seclusion.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maine
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of orthopedics experience within the last year
Medical-Surgical nursing experience
Experience in Charge Nurse roles
BLS certification
Competency in the application of restraints
Competency in the implementation of seclusion

Additional Information

Up to 16 hours of orientation (unpaid).
The facility may cancel up to 3 shifts during the 13-week contract.
