CVOR Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job - Ann Arbor, Michigan
Job Details
- Position: CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)
- Location: Ann Arbor, Michigan
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift:
- Rotating Day/Evening shifts (2x8-hour and 2x12-hour shifts)
- Option for rotating 5x8-hour shifts (6:30 AM–2:30 PM / 2:30 PM–10:30 PM)
- Day and evening shift rotation is required
- Hours per Week: 40 hours
Patient Population & Clinical Focus
- Adult cardiac surgery patients, vascular, and thoracic cases with complex and high acuity needs, including but not limited to:
- Cardiac: CABG, MVR, AVR, ECMO, Heart Transplant, LVAD/RVAD, Aortic Balloon/Impella Devices, MAZE, Aortic Aneurysm Repair
- Thoracic: VATS Wedge Resection, Lobectomy (VATS/Open), Esophagectomy, Bronchoscopy, EGD, Lung Transplant, Mediastinal Mass Removal, Hiatal Hernia Repair
- Vascular: AAA, EVAR, Carotid Endarterectomy, AV Fistulas, Femoral bypasses, SMA bypass, Vein stripping/ablation
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Previous travel nursing experience
- Scrub experience with a skill rating of 3 or 4 on the skills list
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- I-9 or attestation verification
- Background checks including 7-year history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG clearance (updated annually)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, updated annually
- Fit mask test within 1 year (N95 or equivalent masks required)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year; if past positive, clear chest X-ray within 5 years and annual TB questionnaire
- Immunizations and titers:
- Flu vaccine required annually during flu season (no exemptions allowed)
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella: positive titer or 2 vaccines; boosters required if negative/equivocal
- Hepatitis B: titer, series, or declination required
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start (instant drug screens not accepted)
- Employment application and 2 recent professional references (from managers/supervisors; charge RN references not accepted)
- Facility-specific documents and attestations to be reviewed and signed prior to start, including confidentiality, code of conduct, conflict of interest, sexual harassment policies, and completion of required training modules

Orientation
- Orientation pay rate applies for first week (24-36 hours at discretion)
- Pass/fail EKG competency test during orientation; study materials provided prior to start
- Essential orientation paperwork must be completed and submitted within 3 weeks of start date to avoid disruption of assignment
