Description
Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery
Location: West Burlington, Iowa
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
Job Description
- Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
- Collaborate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Care for adolescent and adult females, as well as neonates.
- Experience with Cerner EMR required; Epic experience preferred (transition planned for 6/6/2026).
- May be placed on call during low census periods; must be able to respond and arrive onsite within one hour if called.
Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa.
Certifications (must be current and valid)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
- AWHONN/Fetal Heart Monitoring.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience.
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year.
- Experience with Labor Delivery Recovery & Postpartum (LDRP).
- Experience with Cerner EMR.
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Health and Safety Requirements
- Drug screen (9-panel, excluding THC) within 30 days of start.
- COVID-19 vaccine accepted with declination option.
- MMR: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal.
- Hepatitis B: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal.
- Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; booster or declination accepted if low/equivocal.
- Tdap valid within 10 years; declination accepted.
- TB test: Negative test within past year (TSPOT or QuantiFERON IGG) or documentation if history of positive test.
- Fit test for approved respirators completed prior to start.
- Physician health statement within last 12 months.
Background and Compliance
- Background check within 30 days of start including SS trace and 7-year county search.
- Iowa Adult and Child Abuse clearance.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM HHS/OIG check within 30 days of start.
- Drug screen and other compliance documents as required.
- Two professional references required, including one supervisor reference.
- Resume or profile submission required.
- I-9 attestation on agency letterhead.
- Additional compliance forms and acknowledgments as required prior to onboarding.
Additional Information
- Must maintain a current driver’s license or state ID valid throughout assignment.
- Skills checklist must be completed within the last 12 months.
- May be required to complete pre-orientation computer-based learning acknowledgment.
- Color vision test required.
- OSHA questionnaire to be completed by candidate.
- Epic registration acknowledgment form required after registration completion.
