Description

Case Manager - Travel/Contract

Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
Shift: Day, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (5x8 hours)
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

  • Position involves case management and utilization review.
  • Responsibilities include discharge planning, needs assessment, ordering durable medical equipment (DME), and care planning.
  • Regulatory experience with CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services) is required.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina.
  • Minimum of 1 year of case management experience, with case management experience within the last year.
  • One completed travel assignment required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Orientation Safety Manual Acknowledgement.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting.
  • Experience in charge nurse roles.
  • Utilization Review experience, including InterQual.
  • Discharge planning experience.
  • Experience in ICU (Intensive Care Unit), Medical-Surgical, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Step-Down Unit, Progressive Care Unit (PCU), and Intermediate Care.
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

  • Government-issued photo ID and Social Security card required for badge issuance.
  • Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years.
  • Foreign equivalency evaluation required if education was obtained outside the U.S.
  • Employment application/resume with 7-year work history required.
  • Two supervisory references required, with at least one from within 12 months prior to start.
  • Annual skills checklist with a one-week grace period for renewal.
  • Facility-specific documents including health history form, dress code acknowledgment, floating policy, and contractor equipment acknowledgment must be reviewed and signed.
  • Badge photo must meet strict facility requirements (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire, forward-facing).

Health & Safety Requirements

  • Negative 10-panel drug screen within 40 days of start.
  • Immunizations required: Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, and seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption.
  • TB testing (Qgold/TSPOT) within 6 months of start; chest X-ray if positive history.
  • Fit mask test (N95 respirator) completed within current calendar year, updated annually.
  • Fingerprinting required only if assigned to Home Health or Long-Term Care (not typical for this role).

Scheduling & Work Environment

  • Strict zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.
  • Compliance documents must be completed by 12 Noon EST the Wednesday prior to start date.
  • Workday login and onboarding tasks must be completed prior to arrival.
