Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Roanoke, Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 4x10-hour shifts (7:30 AM - 6:00 PM), Monday-Friday with 1 rotating day off
Weekend Requirement: Possible weekend coverage
On Call: Required; one primary call per week and one primary call weekend per month with a 30-minute callback time
Patient Population: Inpatient/outpatient Interventional Radiology department including angiography suites, CT scanner, fluoroscopy suite for pain management, and advanced imaging technologies

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Virginia
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience within the last year
• ACLS issued by American Heart Association
• BLS issued by American Heart Association
• PALS issued by American Heart Association
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system

Scheduling and Work Requirements

• Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract (rotational basis)
• Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
• Local candidates are not accepted due to radius restrictions

Required Documentation and Compliance

• I-9 or attestation
• Valid Driver’s License/State ID with an address more than 100 miles from the facility (required within 48 hours of signing)
• E-Verify or attestation
• 7-year background check (covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years) completed within 1 year of start
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals
• Education verification of highest earned degree
• NURSYS verification for RN license within 30 days of start
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming freedom from communicable diseases
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually
• Fit test within 1 year, updated annually (not required for students)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
• Required immunizations or positive titers: Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B (vaccine series, positive titer, or declination)
• TB questionnaire required for all candidates
• Photo for badge (professional, plain background, no selfies or filters)
• Completion of new hire paperwork and compliance checklists prior to start
• Review of contract staff orientation manual (not required for inpatient RNs)
• Signature on pain assessment expectation form for inpatient RNs

Additional Requirements

• Two clinical references (hospital evaluations accepted)
• Complete employment application/resume
• Annual update of skills checklist
• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable
• Core competency exams as applicable
