Job Opportunity: PCU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Cape Girardeau, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Must have cardiac nursing experience including:

  • Cardiac drips
  • Cardiothoracic surgeries
  • Chest pain management
  • Post cath lab interventions
  • Other cardiac-specific diagnoses
• Experience managing high patient ratios (1:5 or 1:6) required
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system required
• Must comply with a 75-mile radius rule for travel

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience
• Cardiac nursing experience including cardiac drips, cardiothoracic surgeries, chest pain management, post-cath lab interventions, and other cardiac-specific diagnoses
• Experience managing high patient ratios (1:5 or 1:6)
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Experience with Epic electronic medical record system

Background and Compliance Checks

• 7-year criminal background check covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, including aliases
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 60 days of start
• Education verification of highest degree completed
• Missouri state-specific electronic data license search within 60 days of start

Additional Requirements

• Clear, passport-style photo for badge
• Completion of facility-specific e-learning within 3-5 days of receiving access
• National tech certification verification within 30 days of start
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
• Documentation of all required health and compliance documents uploaded by deadline

• Required years of experience: Minimum 1 year of recent Cardiac PCU experience
• Prior travel experience: Not required

This position is ideal for experienced cardiac nurses comfortable with high patient ratios and working night shifts in a travel/contract role.
