Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Polson, Montana
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Facility & Unit Information
- Critical Access hospital with 22 staffed beds
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color: Any (OR provided)
- Parking: No fee
- Floating: Required as needed between units
- Weekend shifts: Yes, evenly distributed among RNs
- On-call: No
- Block schedules: No
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:1 up to 6:1
- Special requirement: Experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Montana
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience in Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum (LDRP)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or competency
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO, confirming ability to work
- Immunizations and screenings:
- TDAP vaccine within 10 years or signed declination
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
- Seasonal flu vaccine or signed declination (required during flu season)
- COVID-19 vaccination record preferred; declinations accepted with adherence to masking policies
- Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months of start (instant tests acceptable with attestation)
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates, renewed annually
- Fit mask testing required for travel candidates, updated annually
Background & Compliance
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years, updated annually
- Education verification required for nursing degree; international education requires diploma/transcript or CES report
- State-specific searches and registries as applicable (e.g., Washington State Patrol Search if applicable)
- WA Multi-State Licensed Nurses Demographic Attestation if working with out-of-state compact license in Washington (not applicable here but noted for reference)
- Drug screen attestation required if instant drug screen used
Additional Requirements
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background required
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules prior to start and annually thereafter, including:
- Regulatory requirements for RNs
- Specialty-specific modules for Labor and Delivery nursing
- Regional and facility-specific modules as assigned
- Skills checklist updated annually for applicable units
- Float policy acknowledgment required (may be required to float to other nearby facilities)
Work Environment & Schedule
- Night shift with 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each
- Floating between units as needed
- Weekend shifts required, distributed evenly
- No on-call or block scheduling required
