Shift Details

  • Day shift
  • Typical schedule: 4 shifts of 10 hours (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) per week
  • Alternative schedule: 2 shifts of 10 hours and 2 shifts of 8 hours for 36 hours/week

Job Description / Responsibilities

  • Serve as VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) Coordinator managing patient and caregiver education
  • Provide routine and urgent telehealth care and emergency patient management via phone
  • Conduct clinic visits and manage VAD equipment, including downloads and alarm troubleshooting
  • Act as expert resource for VAD equipment and alarms in OR and procedural settings
  • Triage issues from call center, emergency line, and patient portal independently
  • Approximately 80% outpatient work with some procedure area coverage
  • Work primarily with destination therapy durable devices such as HeartMate 3, HeartMate 2, and BrioVAD
  • Manage a patient population of about 210

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan
  • Minimum 3 years of CVOR experience, with CVOR experience within the last year
  • VAD Coordinator experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
  • Experience with Epic electronic health record system
