Sonographer Opportunity - West Virginia

• City: Weirton, West Virginia

Contract Length

• 13 weeks

Specialty

• Ultrasound (General US, OB, Small Parts, Vascular US - upper & lower venous and arterial)

Schedule & Shifts

• 12-hour shifts, working a 2-2-3 schedule between two teams
• Shift times vary: 6am-6pm, 7am-7pm, or 8am-8pm
• Approximately 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement: Every other weekend (EOW)
• May be asked to participate in holiday rotation
• No call or standby required

Work Environment

• Department has 3 ultrasound scanners/rooms
• No floating or coverage of other areas required
• Average of 35 scans/studies per day
• Radiologist available in-house until 5pm; on-call coverage overnight
• Must be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• May be the only tech in-house during shifts

Equipment & Systems

• Ultrasound equipment: Siemens S2000
• EMR system: Community Works
• PACS system: Intellirad/Intelliconnect

Required Certifications & Licenses

• ARDMS certification and/or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) via ARDMS
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Valid West Virginia state license
• WV CARES registration required prior to start

Experience & Skills

• OB and arterial extremity Doppler experience required
• First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
• Must be able to start IVs

Orientation & Training

• Department-specific orientation: 5 shifts with a preceptor (3 twelve-hour day shifts, 6am-6pm)
• Schedule during orientation includes alternating weekends, no call

Dress Code

• Clean, professional scrubs of any color allowed
• Permanent staff wear emerald green scrubs; travelers may match but not required

Additional Notes

• Submissions must include a copy of candidate’s unexpired driver’s license due to a 50-mile radius rule
