Job Opportunity: Labor and Delivery Nurse (Registered Nurse)

Location: Pocatello, Idaho
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (5:00 PM – 5:00 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours

Job Summary

• Position in Labor & Delivery unit.
• Unit accepts first-time travel nurses.
• Candidate must live at least 100 miles from the facility.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Idaho.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Certifications:

  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
  • AWHONN Intermediate
  • FHM (Fetal Heart Monitoring)

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
• E-Verify compliance (for direct hires).
• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide sex offender check, and education verification.
• Education verification of highest level completed.
• Physical exam within 12 months of start.
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start (must be renewed annually).
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: Positive titer or 2 vaccines
  • Hepatitis B: Positive titer, series, or declination accepted
  • Varicella: Positive titer, 2 vaccines, or physician-documented history
• Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31).
• Negative TB questionnaire if applicable.
• Annual unit-specific skills checklist.
• Work history verification for the past 7 years.
• Completion of employment application/resume.

Additional Requirements

• Clear headshot photo for badge.
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgment.
• Competency exams as applicable, including medication/pharmacology competency.
• Color blindness test (online version accepted).
• Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute), NIH Stroke Certification, TNCC, PALS, and Chemotherapy certifications may be required as applicable.
• Fingerprinting may be required onsite during orientation for certain states (not applicable here).
