Registered Nurse (ER)

Location

Harris, New York

Job Details

Emergency Department (ED) nurse for a 24-bed unit
Contract length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights (7p-7a)
Hours: 12-hour shifts, approximately 36 hours per week
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:3 to 1:5
Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday requirement: Rotating holidays
Charge nurse role: Yes, but not assigned to travelers
Floor-specific orientation provided
Telemetry skills required (ability to read cardiac strips)
Experience with drips and ventilators needed
EMR system: EPIC
Hospitalist and Respiratory Therapist available 24/7
No floating requirement
Scrub color: Any

Patient Population & Environment

Emergency Department serving all ages
New York State Designated Stroke Center
Medium-sized facility located about 2 hours from New York City

Required Certifications & Licenses

Active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
BLS (Basic Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)

Additional Notes

Nurse aides are available on the unit
No IV team or 24/7 pharmacy coverage
Prior travel experience is not specified as required
