Job Opportunity: IMC Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks


Job Details

  • Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each)
  • Unit: Intermediate Care (IMC) with focus on post-surgical care
  • Patient Care:
    • Cardiac non-titratable drips
    • Insulin and Heparin drips
    • Bedside procedures including ketamine use for pain management (burn care, chest tube, wound care)
    • Frequent assessments and respiratory interventions every 2 hours
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Floating: Required within scope to meet facility needs, including sister facilities
  • Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
  • Local Radius Rule: Must live more than 75 miles from the contracted facility (locals not accepted)
  • Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: No more than 5 days allowed

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Oklahoma
  • Minimum 1 year of Intermediate Care experience, including experience within the last year
  • Med Surg and Telemetry experience
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
  • Current BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Current ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Background Checks:
    • 7-year criminal background check within 30 days of start, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and OFAC sanctions list checks updated monthly
    • Education verification with transcript/diploma matching highest degree
  • Health Documents:
    • Physical exam within 1 year confirming good health and no physical limitations
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
    • Immunizations/vaccinations: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis A & B, Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap, Flu seasonal vaccine (or approved exemption)
    • Drug screening (10-panel including marijuana) within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
    • COVID vaccination strongly preferred; declinations accepted with agency form
  • Competency Exams: Must be current and passed with required scores, including:
    • Medication/Pharmacology competency
    • Dysrhythmia/EKG competency
    • Core Parts I, II, and III competency exams
    • Conscious Sedation competency (if applicable)
  • Facility Specific:
    • Patient Care Orientation Class (Skills) mandatory
    • EPIC training required if no EPIC experience within last 6 months
    • N95 Mask Fit Test to be completed onsite prior to or on first day
    • Completion of facility policy acknowledgments and ethical business conduct forms prior to start
    • Fingerprinting and state-specific screening clearance required

References and Work History

  • Two references from former direct supervisors required (one within 1 year, one within 3 years)
  • Resume covering last 7 years of employment with explanations for gaps over 30 days
  • 10-year work history verification including international positions and employment gaps with attestation if needed

Additional Notes

  • Block scheduling is not accommodated
  • Locals within 75 miles are not accepted for this assignment
  • Floating to other units or sister facilities may be required within scope of practice

This position is ideal for experienced IMC RNs with telemetry and stepdown experience seeking a travel contract night shift role in Oklahoma City.
