Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Telemetry (Night Shift)

Unit and Shift Details
- Unit: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nights, operates like a telemetry unit
- Shift: Night, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (19:00 - 7:30)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week (3 shifts of 12 hours)
- Patient Ratios: 1 nurse to 5-6 patients
- Weekend Requirement: 2 shifts every other weekend (Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday depending on rotation)
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in specialty
- First-time travelers accepted
- No prior travel experience required
Licensure and Certifications
- Must hold an active Registered Nurse license valid in Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
- Required Certifications:
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only, certificates of completion accepted for up to 1 month
- BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only, certificates of completion accepted for up to 1 month
- NIH Stroke Certification - Required for all nurses, must be updated annually
- Additional certifications may be required based on unit specifics (e.g., PALS, ENPC, TNCC) but not mandatory for this role
Job Responsibilities and Requirements
- Floating within scope to telemetry unit as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Not open to block scheduling
- Locals within 75 miles radius are not accepted

Compliance and Background Checks
- Government-issued ID required (e.g., driver's license or state ID)
- Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
- Quarterly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required
- Education verification of highest nursing degree required before start
- Fingerprinting required for assignments involving long-term care or rehab units in Illinois
- State-specific background checks and registries as applicable
Health and Safety Requirements
- Physical exam within 1 year of start date
- Fit mask testing (N95) required and must be renewed annually; onsite testing available if needed
- Immunizations and titers required or documented immunity for:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (or declination)
- TB testing (2 negative PPDs or equivalent within 1 year)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or declination)
- Drug testing within 1 year of start, must include specific panels and be valid throughout assignment
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season (Sept 30 - April 1)
- Hepatitis B declination required (vaccination not mandatory)

- Unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year of start (Oncology skills if applicable)
- Professional references: Two required, preferably supervisors within the last year
- Annual completion of facility-specific orientation modules and regulatory compliance education via online platform

Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry nursing experience, including telemetry experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
