Description
Job Opportunity: Technologist - Computed Tomography (CT)
Location: Mount Clemens, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Nights
Hours per Day: 12
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Coordinate and perform all computerized tomography (CT) scanning procedures.
- Set up, monitor, and operate complex CT equipment for diagnostic imaging.
- Position and transfer patients safely using proper lifting techniques and immobilization devices as needed.
- Prepare and inject contrast media intravenously according to radiologist protocols.
- Capture, develop, and record diagnostic images for permanent patient files.
- Maintain image quality and perform daily calibration and quality control of CT equipment.
- Monitor patients for allergic reactions and assist with emergency medical situations, including basic CPR.
- Follow safety standards and regulations to protect self and patients.
- Maintain cleanliness and inventory of supplies in the work environment.
- Assist radiologists and other physicians with specialized radiological procedures.
- Review and record patient history and clinical data to support diagnosis.
- Participate in quality assessments and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Instruct new personnel as needed.
- Maintain registry compliance with regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of CT experience.
- Experience with Phillips CT equipment is required.
- Valid Michigan license verification is required (applicable to nurses; for other professions, preferred).
- Skills checklist completed within one year of application is required for nursing specialties; preferred for other disciplines.
- Basic CPR certification and ability to assist in emergency situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not required.
Additional Information
- Dress code: Navy blue scrubs.
- Electronic Medical Record system used: Cerner.
- Full-time employees of the facility are not eligible for contract hire within six months of employment.
- The facility is a Level II Trauma Center with a busy Emergency Center.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
- Must apply accepted safety and lifting techniques when transferring and positioning patients.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
