Description
Job Opportunity: CT Tech
Location: Montclair, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (11:45 AM – 12:15 AM)
Hours per Week: 36 hours
Job Description
- Work in a busy community hospital setting with two primary CT scanners.
- Perform approximately 40-60+ scans daily.
- Patient mix includes inpatient, outpatient, and emergency room volume.
- Unit accepts first-time travelers.
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not eligible.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in New Jersey.
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience, including experience within the last year.
- ARRT certification in Radiography (ARRT R).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Valid Driver’s License or State ID.
- E-Verify compliance (for direct hires).
- 7-year background check completed within 1 year of start date, including SS trace, county searches, nationwide checks, sex offender registry, and education verification.
- Education verification of highest level completed.
- Physical exam within 12 months of start.
- Negative 2-step TB test, QGOLD, or TSPOT within 1 year.
- Adult Tdap vaccine within 10 years (no declinations except approved medical exemptions).
- Required immunizations or positive titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (or declination/booster post titer)
- Varicella (or documented history signed by MD/DO)
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31).
- Fit test for approved masks within 1 year of start, renewed annually.
- Unit-specific skills checklist required annually.
- Work history verification for 7 years; NJ mandates at least 1 year prior verified with no gaps over 30 days.
Certifications (As Applicable)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Chemotherapy certification
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC)
- Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI)
Note: Certifications are required as applicable to the role.
Competencies
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam (minimum 80% score or meet/exceed Angoff score).
- Color blindness test (online version accepted).
- Competency exams with minimum passing score of 80% or higher if Angoff score is elevated.
- Annual core testing or signed HIPAA form for agency staff.
Additional Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted.
- Candidates must not reside within 50 miles of the facility.
- Clear headshot photo required for badge.
- Fingerprinting and other background checks may be required depending on location.
- Employment application and resume must be completed.
- Two professional references required for travel/allied/per diem acute care candidates (within 2 years of start).
