Description
CT Tech - Travel/Contract
Location: Orangeburg, South Carolina
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Overview
- Perform high-quality CT examinations on patients ranging from infants to geriatrics following established protocols.
- Work under general supervision and report to the CT manager.
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week (Friday to Sunday), 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM (3x12-hour shifts).
- On-call required Monday through Thursday on a rotation with other technologists.
- No floating between service lines or to sister facilities.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CT Technologist license in South Carolina (pending license accepted at start but must be obtained by assignment start date).
- Minimum 1 year of CT Technologist experience within the last year.
- Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in CT.
- Certification required: BLS issued by the American Heart Association, ARRT (CT), and South Carolina Radiation Quality Standards Association (SCRQSA) for CT.
- Must be able to start IV, administer contrast, and perform biopsies.
Facility & Work Environment
- Level III Trauma, Acute Care Hospital with 286 staffed beds.
- Charting system: Epic.
- Scrub color: Teal top and black bottom.
- Free parking available.
- Local radius for travel: 60 miles.
- Locals may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
- Facility may call off 1 shift every 2 weeks.
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require emergency response team participation; avoid new or extended assignments during peak months (August-September) if this is a concern.
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (AHA) required for all clinical candidates.
- Color blindness testing required prior to start.
- Medication/pharmacology competency exam required.
- Competency exam required.
Background & Compliance Requirements
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years, including SSN trace, state and national criminal checks, sex offender registry, and FACIS 3.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for renewals.
- Education verification required; diploma or transcripts accepted as placeholder if needed.
- OFAC sanctions list search required prior to start.
- South Carolina Medicaid Excluded Providers search required for subcontractors.
- Work history verification of last 3 clinical employers required.
Health & Immunization Requirements
- Initial physical exam and annual updates attesting ability to meet physical demands.
- Negative TB test (T-spot or Q-Gold) within 90 days of start; if positive, chest x-ray and annual TB questionnaire required.
- Proof of immunizations or positive titers for:
- Measles (Rubeola)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
- Tdap vaccine required within 10 years or declination form.
- Seasonal flu vaccine required during flu season (August 1 - March 31); medical/religious exemptions accepted but no declinations.
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests).
- COVID vaccines highly preferred; if declined, must complete vaccination declination form.
- Respirator medical clearance required annually for all patient-facing travelers.
Facility-Specific Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules (4-6 hours) prior to start; failure to complete results in being sent home.
- Clear, passport-style badge photo required by Wednesday end of day prior to start.
- Facility-specific job description must be signed prior to start.
- Radiation exposure attestation required before start if radiation badge is needed.
- Radiation badge process takes 5-7 days; candidates cannot start patient care without badge.
- Must complete all labs within 48 hours after signing assignment.

- Agency must provide radiation badge and monthly/quarterly radiation exposure reports.
