Job Opportunity: Operating Room Registered Nurse
Location: Arlington, Virginia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Night, Monday – Thursday, 8:30 PM – 7:00 AM (3 shifts/week, 12 hours each)

Job Description
- Provide nursing care in the Operating Room (OR) setting.
- Schedule and start date dependent on completion of EPIC training.
- No call requirement.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia.
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room (OR) nursing experience, with OR experience within the last year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Certifications & Training
- BLS (Basic Life Support) required.
- Additional certifications may be required depending on unit specifics; confirm with program management if unclear.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation, including HIPAA and safety manuals.
- Must complete medication/pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
- Annual core competency training (Parts I, II, III) required.
Health & Safety Requirements
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (Oct 1 – Mar 31). Medical or religious exemptions allowed with proper documentation and approval.
- Negative TB test (PPD, Tspot, or QGold) within 1 year of start; annual TB questionnaire required.
- Fit mask test within last 12 months required.
- Negative 11-panel drug screen within 30 days of start.
- Up-to-date immunizations or titers for:
- Rubeola (Measles)
- Mumps
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B (vaccination series, positive titer, or signed declination)
- Varicella
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (if applicable to unit)
- Pre-employment physical exam within 1 year confirming ability to meet physical demands.
Background & Documentation
- 7-year criminal background check required, including all locations lived/worked.
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start and updated for contract renewals.
- Education verification and employment application/resume required.
- Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
- Skills checklist and performance evaluations if previously worked with the agency.
- Completion of facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreements, code of ethics, dress code, parking forms, and vendor access request.
- Government-issued photo ID required and must be carried during work hours.
- Clear, passport-style photo required for facility badge.
Facility & Orientation Notes
- Candidates must wear both agency and facility badges at all times.
- EPIC training modules must be completed prior to start; failure to complete will delay start.
- Facility-specific policies and acknowledgements must be reviewed and signed prior to start.
- Virtual orientation and online attestations required.
Additional Information
- No prior travel experience explicitly required.
- This is a replacement position.
- The facility is a Level II Trauma center with a focus on trauma, neuro, ortho spine, general surgery, and robotics.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced OR RNs seeking a 13-week travel assignment with night shifts in a trauma-focused surgical environment.
