Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Job in Lebanon, Pennsylvania

Position Details

• Job Title: Registered Nurse
• Location: Lebanon, Pennsylvania
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract
• Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit and Patient Population

• May float to all Medical-Surgical floors and potentially rehab units.
• Patient types include:

  • Occasional stable open heart surgery patients (typically day 4-5 post-op)
  • Peritoneal dialysis and respiratory patients
  • Cardiac disease and stroke patients (with CHF and Stroke Program Coordinators supporting education)
  • Joint replacements, observation, and fast turnaround patients
• May care for COVID-19 patients.
• Tobacco and fragrance-free facility.

Schedule Requirements

• Night shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Weekends: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Holidays: As needed
• Call: Not required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania.
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with at least some experience within the last year.
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
• Current ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system.

Orientation and Onboarding

• One day of orientation provided.
• Expected to take assignments immediately after orientation.
• Return to Office (RTO) maximum 7 days.

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check required within 30 days of start; updated annually.
• Pennsylvania State Police PATCH search required within 1 year of start; must be finalized prior to start.
• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Search (Childline) required within 5 years; results must be on file within first 45 days.
• Pennsylvania FBI fingerprinting required within 1 year; candidate may start with results pending but must have results on file within 45 days.
• EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks required within 30 days of start.
• Education verification of highest degree required.
• Two professional references within 3 years required.
• Most recent resume or employment application required.
• Annual skills checklist required.

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 90 days of start, signed by MD, DO, PA, or NPT.
• Negative TB test (QGold or TSpot) within 90 days; PPD not accepted.
• Vaccinations or positive titers required for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Varicella
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer or full vaccine series plus declination form if applicable)
• TDAP vaccine within 10 years of start.
• Seasonal flu vaccine or valid medical/religious exemption required during flu season.
• COVID-19 vaccine, medical/religious exemption, or declination accepted.
• Respiratory safety clearance required within 1 year; renew annually.
• Negative 9-panel drug test within 1 year (requirement for agency only, not facility).

Competency and Testing Requirements

• Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable.
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam (pass/fail) required for all RNs except OR and Home Health.
• Acknowledgement of pass/fail testing required.
• State license primary source verification and NURSYS verification required.

Facility-Specific Requirements

• Passport-style photo for badge.
• Review and sign facility documents including:

  • Code of Conduct
  • Confidentiality Agreement
  • Commitment to Health & Wellness
  • Non-Employee Affidavit
  • Hepatitis B declination form (if applicable)
  • Safety and Security Vehicle Registration (if applicable)
• Completion of Learning Management System (LMS) modules on PC/laptop prior to start.
• New hire orientation must be completed by end of first day.
