Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Bridgeport, Connecticut
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Description

  • Work schedule: Day shift, 4 days per week, 9.5-hour shifts (7:00 AM - 4:30 PM) with a 30-minute break
  • Call requirement: 6-9 days of call per month, including 36-hour call shifts, 4-9 hour days, and 24-hour on-call coverage
  • Cath Lab operates 24/7 for cardiac emergencies; weekday call from 5:15 PM to 7 AM, weekend call is 24 hours
  • Float to nearby campus as needed
  • Facility type: Short term acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center, 426 staffed beds
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Scrubs provided
  • Free parking available

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Perform invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, stent implants, IABP, Impella, EKOS, Rotablator, IVUS, FFR, Penumbra, Pericardiocentesis, Shockwave, and IVC filters
  • Assist with TEEs and Cardioversions
  • Participate in TAVRs and MitraClips procedures in conjunction with hybrid OR
  • Patient population primarily adults with diagnoses such as Coronary Artery Disease, Myocardial Infarction, Unstable Angina, Aortic/Mitral Valve Disease, and Peripheral Vascular Disease

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
  • Minimum of 1 year of Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with recent experience within the last year
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse with Cath Lab experience
