Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab position at a Level II Trauma Center, requiring prior Cath Lab experience and call availability for a 24/7 cardiac emergency lab.
Details
- Works in a two-room Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory Suite within a 426-bed short-term acute care hospital that is part of the Yale New Haven Health System
- Adult patient population with diagnoses including Coronary Artery Disease, Myocardial Infarction, Unstable Angina, Aortic/Mitral Valve Disease, and Peripheral Vascular Disease
- Procedures performed include diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral catheterizations, stent implants, IABP, Impella, EKOS, Rotablator, IVUS, FFR, Penumbra, Pericardiocentesis, Shockwave, IVC filters, TEEs, Cardioversions, TAVRs, and MitraClips (in conjunction with hybrid OR)
- Lab operates Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–5:15 PM, and is available 24/7 for emergency cardiac procedures
- Schedule is 4x9.5-hour day shifts (7:00–16:30) with a 30-minute break
- On-call is required approximately 6–9 days per month; weekday call hours are 5:15 PM–7:00 AM, and weekend call is 24 hours per day
- Charting performed in Epic
- Floating to a satellite campus may be required as needed
- Scrubs are provided for this role
- Free parking is available on-site
Requirements
- Active RN license (Compact or Connecticut state license) required
- Current BLS certification required
- Prior Cath Lab experience required
- 1 reference required for consideration
- Candidates must not have any prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license
- Flu vaccination is required; declinations are not accepted
- COVID-19 vaccination required; religious or medical exemptions may be considered
Additional Information
- Perform invasive cardiac and peripheral procedures in a high-acuity, 24/7 emergency-capable cath lab environment
- Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible at the travel pay rate
- Former permanent staff of this health system must have been separated for at least 2 years before being considered as a traveler
- Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved by the facility during the contract
- Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
- This is a Level II Trauma Center; prior trauma center experience is a plus
