Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Registered Nurse
- Shift: Day shift, 4 shifts of 12 hours each (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM), every third weekend required
- Hours per Week: 48 hours
- Schedule Flexibility: Block scheduling possible upon discussion with manager
- Floating: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- First-time Travelers: Accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of CVICU nursing experience within the last year
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Basic Life Support (BLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association
- PICC line management experience
- Experience with starting IVs
Facility Information
- Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
- Magnet-designated facility
- 562 staffed beds
- Charting system: Cerner
- Parking permit required (no cost)
Onboarding and Compliance Requirements
- Background Checks: Comprehensive background checks within 30 days of start, including SSN trace, criminal, sex offender, and federal exclusion lists
- Drug Screening: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- Health Documentation:
- Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good physical and mental health, ability to perform job functions without restrictions
- Fit mask test required (specific mask types accepted)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Hepatitis B, Varicella
- Flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption required annually by November 30
- Fingerprinting: Required for clinical candidates without an active Illinois license; must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start
- References: Two professional references required for clinical candidates
- Competency Exam: Required for all clinical candidates
- Photo for Badge: Color photo required within one week of contract signing
Additional Notes
- Return-to-Office (RTO) restrictions ideally no more than 5 days
- Guaranteed hours policy allows client to cancel up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay for those hours
- Candidates must complete and sign facility-specific documents including code of conduct and parking permit forms as applicable
