CVICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position
Location: Springfield, Illinois
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: Night shift, 18:45 to 07:00 (3x12-hour shifts, open to 4x12-hour shifts)
- Weekend Requirement: Every third weekend
- Hours per Week: 48 hours
- Float: May be required to float within scope to meet facility needs
- Schedule Flexibility: Open to block schedule requests (discuss with manager)
- Locals Accepted: Yes, no radius restrictions
- Return to Office (RTO) Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Minimum 1 year of CVICU nursing experience within the last year
- ACLS certification
- BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PICC line management experience

- Acute Care Hospital, Level I Trauma Center
- Magnet designated facility
- 562 staffed beds
- Charting system: Cerner
- Parking permit required (no cost)
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Background Checks:
- Comprehensive background check within 30 days of start, covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG checks within 30 days prior to start
- Illinois-specific searches including Department of Corrections, Most Wanted, and State Police registries within 30 days of start
- Education Verification: Initial degree verification required (unofficial or official transcripts accepted if pending)
- Fingerprinting: Required for clinical candidates without an Illinois license; must be completed in Illinois 3 business days prior to start
- Competency Exam: Required for all clinical candidates
- References: Two professional references required for clinical candidates
- Photo for Badge: Color photo required within one week of contract signing
- Code of Conduct: Must review and sign within 7 days of contract signing
- Flu Vaccination: Vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption required by November 30 annually
- Parking Permit Form: Must be completed within 7 days of contract signing if applicable
Health & Safety Requirements
- Physical Exam: Within one year of start, signed by an MD, NP, PA, or equivalent, confirming good physical and mental health and ability to perform job functions
- Fit Mask Test: Required prior to start (3M 1860 small/regular, 1870, or 1870+ masks accepted)
- TB Testing: 2-step PPD, TSPOT, or Qgold within one year of start; chest x-ray required if positive TB test within past year
- Immunizations: Documentation of 2 MMR vaccines or positive titers (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella), Hepatitis B series or positive titer, and Varicella vaccine or positive titer
- Drug Screening: 9-panel drug screen within 30 days of start; negative dilute results require retesting
- TB Questionnaire: Required for all candidates, updated annually

- Guaranteed hours subject to client call-offs (up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment without pay)
- Scrub color: Any solid color
