Description
Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Location: South Charleston, West Virginia
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (8-hour shifts, 40 hours/week)
- Weekend Coverage: Call every 4th weekend (Friday 4:30 PM – 7:00 AM, plus full Saturday and Sunday)
- Call Requirement: One day per week when not on weekend call
- No holiday coverage required at this time
- No self-scheduling; block scheduling in place
- Department has 4 scanners/rooms (2 Siemens E-cam, 2 Philips Brightview)
- Imaging/Studies Performed: Cardiac, HIDA, Gastric Emptying, Lung scans, Thyroid Uptake, Tilt tests
- Average Scans per Day: 12-15
- EMR System: Meditech Expanse
- PACS System: AGFA IMPAX
- No floating or coverage of other areas required
- Radiologist available in-house
- Lead Tech supervises the department
- No Registered Radiology Assistants (RRA) used
- Department-specific orientation required (Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, includes rotating weekends and call)
Required Qualifications
- Certification: ARRT (MR) or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) certification required
- State Licensure: West Virginia licensure required
- BLS Certification required
- Certified Nuclear Cardiology Technologist (NMTCB-NCT) verification required
- Must have skills in IV start and EKG
- Experience: Required (no specific years stated, but experience is mandatory)
- Radiation badge: Must be provided by the agency; facility does not provide
- Must submit a copy of an unexpired driver’s license with application
Dress Code
- Scrubs: Black colored scrubs required; no embroidery, no t-shirts underneath
- Jacket: If needed, must be a scrub jacket
- Footwear: No Crocs with holes or backs out
- Scrubs are not provided by the facility
Additional Notes
- This position involves working with specialized nuclear medicine imaging equipment and performing a variety of diagnostic studies.
- The role requires adherence to radiation safety protocols, including use of a radiation badge supplied by the agency.
