Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical (Night Shift)

Location: Warrensburg, Missouri
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Job Description

• Provide nursing care on a Medical Surgical unit during night shifts.
• Must have experience reading and recognizing arrhythmias and strokes.
• NIH Stroke Certification required.
• Orthopedic post-operative care experience required.
• Flexible scheduling preferred.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Missouri.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience, including experience within the last year.
• ACLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
• Experience reading and recognizing cardiac arrhythmias.
• Experience reading and recognizing strokes.
• Orthopedic post-operative nursing experience.

Required Documentation & Compliance

• Government-issued photo ID (must be carried during hours of service).
• Proof of E-Verify or attestation.
• Background checks including 7-year criminal history, EPLS/GSA/SAM, HHS/OIG.
• Primary source verification of state nursing license.
• NURSYS verification for RN license.
• Proof of 2 clinical references or hospital evaluations.
• Completed employment application/resume.
• Skills checklist updated annually for applicable unit.
• Physical exam attesting ability to meet physical demands, updated annually.
• Drug screen within 30 days of start (9-panel instant accepted).
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually.
• Immunization or titer proof for:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B (titer, vaccine series, or declination)
  • Varicella
• Seasonal flu vaccination or documented declination (deadline December 1).
• N95 fit test within past 12 months (can be completed onsite).
• Annual OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission training attestation or core testing.
• Performance evaluation and internal evaluation if employed over 1 year with the staffing agency.
• Missouri EDL Search results required before start and for each contract renewal.

Additional Notes

• COVID-19 vaccination is not required.
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
• Local candidates are acceptable at the same rate.
• ASAP start dates available.

This position is ideal for RNs with solid Med Surg night experience, strong arrhythmia and stroke recognition skills, and certifications including ACLS and NIH Stroke Certification.
