ICU Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Farmington, Missouri
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Nights, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:30 - 7:00)
• Hours per Week: 36 hours
• Unit: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Staffing Ratios: 1:2-3 (both day and night)
• Average Daily Census: 6 patients
• Unit Size: 8 rooms, 10 beds
• Float Requirement: May float to Medical-Surgical unit if not needed in ICU
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Local Radius Rule: Candidates must live more than 75 miles away (locals not accepted)
• First-Time Travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
• Pending License: Accepted
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week for 3 twelve-hour shifts

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri (pending licenses accepted)
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) nursing experience, with ICU experience within the last year
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Proficient in ventilator (vent) management
• Experience with telemetry monitoring

Compliance & Documentation Requirements

• Background Checks:

  • Criminal background check within 6 months, including statewide and nationwide searches
  • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG quarterly checks
  • Education verification of highest nursing degree
  • State-specific searches and highway patrol checks as applicable
• Health Requirements:

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start
  • Fit mask test (N95 respirators) renewed annually
  • Immunizations and titers: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or medical exemption required)
  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccine or declination
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray per protocol
  • Drug screening within 1 year, including specific panels, must remain valid throughout assignment
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• Facility-Specific Documents:

  • Badge photo (head and shoulders, white background, no obstructions, taken within 6 months)
  • HIPAA Acknowledgement, Confidentiality Form, Latex Allergy Questionnaire, Hand Hygiene Policy, Fingernail Policy, Dress Code Policy, Regulatory Compliance Education (annual quiz)
  • Employment application and unit-specific skills checklist within 1 year
• Competency Exams:

  • Unit-specific competency exam required annually
  • Medication/pharmacology competency exam as applicable

• Orientation: Required WorkRamp orientation modules (~16 hours) unless completed in current calendar year
• References: Two professional references required; supervisors preferred within last year
